• DAVID NEWALL - DNA was set up by David who saw a niche in the market.


• BATTERSEA DOGS & CATS HOME - David was previously the Deputy Director General of the world renowned Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London, where as well as directing all operational issues at the Home, he was directly responsible for overseeing the design, project management and building of over £25 million worth of new-build projects, including kennels, catteries and offices.


• ASSOCIATION OF DOGS AND CATS HOMES - David was Secretary to the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) for 8 years, advising and consulting over 50 animal welfare establishments on various building related matters. He has first hand knowledge of a large cross section of building types and materials, from state of the art modern animal facilities and offices, to more modest refurbishments, including large scale ‘modular’ portakabin style building, praised for their flexibility of design andspeed of erection.


• MERLIN / MOTHER TERESA- Prior to working for Battersea, David worked as a country coordinator and logistician for the medical charity MERLIN (Medical Emergency Relief International) as well as for Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity on building projects world wide. He is at home operating overseas as much as in the UK, bringing a strong sense of organisation and administrative skills to any project he is involved in.


• 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE within the charity sector, David fully understands the importance of donor commitment and liaising with Trustees. Over the years David has developed an excellent database of contacts with which he has worked and developed a strong successful professional partnership. Associates include members from all fields of the building profession – project managers, clerks of works, architects, employer’s agents (client’s represe ntative) engineers and surveyors as well as suppliers of building materials and landscape architects.




• CASE STUDIES - We are presently working on projects within the Animal Welfare sector, the City Livery Companies and the Royal Ballet School. We work on projects ranging from £1,500 ‘imperative’ projects all the way through to major new build projects.


• Modular Buildings – DNA project managed the construction of a 1000 sq.m two story modular ‘portakabin’ office building, providing work space for 60 employees, achieving the finished product with 5 months of initial plans and for under half the budget needed for a traditional build.


• Kennels – DNA have constructed several differing designs of kennel buildings, ranging from the large scale construction to refurbishment of smaller existing buildings.


• Catteries – DNA has been involved with several designs or cattery, ranging from 65 pen units to 8 pen units.


• Offices – DNA has advised on new builds, as well as extensions to existing buildings.


• Refurbishments and extensions - DNA has carried out several projects of this nature, offering engineer and surveyor input to conclude the projects.
